Welcome to Doubles Date, mixed doubles padel for couples in Dubai. These terms explain the rules for using the app. By creating an account you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
Who we are
Doubles Date is run by its founders, Rachel and Trisse, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. You can reach us at hello@doublesdate.com. [Business name and licence number to be added once registered.]
Who can use Doubles Date
- You must be 18 or over.
- You need your own account, with true details about yourself. Keep your password private.
- Couples on Doubles Date are mixed doubles, one man and one woman. You can link to one partner at a time.
- Before launch, new accounts join a waitlist and we let people in bit by bit.
Events and payments
- Official events are run by Doubles Date. The price is shown on the event. Your spot is held when you sign up and confirmed once we receive your payment through our payment provider, Ziina. We never see or store your card details.
- If you withdraw, your spot goes to the next couple on the waitlist. Refunds for official events are at our discretion; contact us and we'll do our best to help.
- We may change or cancel an event, for example if not enough couples sign up by the deadline. If we cancel an event you've paid for, we'll refund you.
- Community games are set up by other couples, not by Doubles Date. The hosts book the court and sort out any payment directly with you. No money goes through the app for community games, and we aren't responsible for them. You can report a community game from its page.
Results, levels and your profile
- Your name, photo, level, results, couple level and trophies are shown to other players in the app, including on the leaderboard.
- Organisers enter scores. If you think a result is wrong, tell us and we'll look into it.
- You can share your results outside the app using the share buttons.
Playing safely
Padel is a physical sport and you take part at your own risk. Please read our play-at-your-own-risk notice, follow the rules of each venue, and only play if you're fit and well enough to do so.
Be kind
- Treat other players, hosts and venue staff with respect, on and off the court.
- Don't upload photos or write anything offensive, misleading, or that isn't yours to share.
- Don't misuse the app, try to break it, or use it to advertise.
We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.
Your account
You can delete your account at any time from Me in the app. See our Privacy Policy for what happens to your information.
Our responsibility
We work hard to keep Doubles Date running smoothly, but the app is provided as it is and may sometimes be unavailable or contain mistakes. As far as the law allows, we aren't responsible for indirect losses, for community games, or for anything that happens at venues we don't run. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under UAE law that can't be limited.
Changes and law
We may update these terms. If the changes are important we'll tell you in the app. These terms are governed by the laws of the Emirate of Dubai and the federal laws of the UAE.
