This explains what information Doubles Date keeps about you, why, and your choices. We keep as little as we need to run the app, in line with the UAE's Personal Data Protection Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021).

What we keep

• Your account: first and last name, email, password (stored scrambled so nobody can read it), whether you're a man or woman, your level, preferred side, a short bio if you add one, and a profile photo if you add one.
• Playing: who you're linked with, events you sign up to, whether you've paid, scores, results, couple level and trophies.
• Invites: your invite code and how many people joined with it.
• Messages from the app: your in-app notifications, and any reports you make about community games.

We don't keep your card or bank details. Payments go through Ziina, which handles them under its own privacy policy.

Why we use it

• To run your account, link you with your partner, and let you sign up to and play events.
• To work out results, couple levels and the leaderboard.
• To send you emails you need, like confirming your email or resetting your password, and in-app notifications about your events.
• To keep the community safe, for example by looking into reports.

Who can see it

• Other players in the app can see your name, photo, level, preferred side, bio, partner, results, couple level and trophies.
• Only you and the organisers can see your email, your payment status and your place on the waitlist.
• We never sell your information.

Services we use

We use trusted companies to run the app. They only use your information to provide their service to us:

• Supabase: our database, logins and photo storage (data stored in Mumbai, India).
• Vercel: hosts the app.
• Resend: sends our account emails (Ireland).
• Ziina: takes payments for official events.

Because some of these services store data outside the UAE, your information may be transferred abroad. We choose providers with strong security and data protection.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while you have an account. When you delete your account, your login, profile, photo and notifications are deleted straight away. Match scores that other couples played against you stay in their history, but without your name or photo.

Your choices

• See and change your details in Edit profile.
• Delete your account and data at any time from Me, then Delete my account.
• Ask us for a copy of your information, or ask us anything about privacy, at hello@doublesdate.com.

Age

Doubles Date is for adults. You must be 18 or over to have an account.

Changes

If we change this policy in an important way, we'll tell you in the app.
